I feel nearly as shredded as the wallpaper. I'm off to Home Depot to get spackle to start Phase 2. To paraphrase Nietzche and the guys from Queer Eye, "That which does not kill me makes my habitat look fabulous."

We had a great PPD meeting last evening. I'll have to type up the minutes after I get back from Home Depot. So much stuff to do. Fun, fun, fun. The group is coalescing into something strong and hopefully long lasting. Rain appears imminent. I'm outa here so I can get back before it pours. I'll update later.

Later: I got home just as it started to drizzle. I feel so lazy right now. I'm loathe to get on with the toil. I must do it, though, because Vel said she'd come over tomorrow to help paint. If I get all the prep work done today, the painting will be a breeze. Friday, I will veg out and be a zombie until class.

Even later: Sanding is done. I rest for a while before I go have at it with the masking tape. Go Cubbies!

What is PPD? Oh and btw yesterday that 70's Show had Alice Cooper. I missed part of the show so I don't know if he appeared more than the final scene. But in the final the funky old head DJ from WKRP, the DJ from that 70's show that Donna was working with, and Alice Cooper were playing D&D while getting stoned.

PPD is Pagan Pride Day. The Greater New Orleans Witan, of which I am a member, took it over after the fiasco of the con artist stealing the money from last year's event. There is a national organization that helps local groups organize and host PPDs throughout the country. We're gonna have a kick-ass one this year. We decided on so many things last night and several people came up with some great ideas which they are going to implement. Lots of work ahead, but it should be a real boon to the community.

I've got the episode of "That '70s Show" with Alice on tape. I think he's still hot no matter what anyone else thinks.

I heard about that, I think. It made all the Pagan boards, even up thisaway.

Our coven is participating in something up here. I know better than to volunteer this year, because I'll be in the thick of an album release, and lucky enough to have time to show up to the thing.

Whoa, lady,

cut yourself some slack, will you :-)? That sounds like more work than - working :-P!

Re: Whoa, lady,

Today's tasks should be considerably easier. I'll do a lot of it left-handed the way I have been so that one arm isn't rubbery at the end of the day. I may even get a primer coat on today if the rain stops early enough.

Vel and I told [info]goddessmusings we'd come over Saturday to "Clean Sweep" her junk room. We also offered to help her do a few more things before her hubby gets home from Iraq. That way, when he gets home, he'll be able to kick back and get some rest while trying to reassimilate into civilian life rather than have a buttload of crap to deal with fresh out of the desert.

Re: Whoa, lady,

Wow. You are quite the angel! I envy you the energy, of course :-).

*Offers virtual back rub*

It sounds like you'l be needing a holiday after this!
I hope you have planned a suitable reward for yourself.
And no, the nicely painted room is not enough of a reward.

Alcohol. I've still got some scotch and rum and an assortment of wine to get loaded on tomorrow after the painting is done. I can't wait. It's really a lovely color. The closest approximation is HTML CC6600 with really gold undertones.

:)

That sounds nice.
Restaurant first sounds better actually, but if that's not possible, at least a meal you don't have to cook.

Re: :)

Pizza delivery. Don't even have to leave the house.

Hah! You're gettin' old. *limps off stage left* Me too. :)

It'll be great to have it done though. Ya know, if you didn't mind traveling you could set up your own "let me clean up your habitat and organize your life" consulting service. :P

I offered myself to Nea a couple of years ago for the price of lodging and food, but I haven't been able to scrounge together airfare. I'd love to visit SF.

That may not be a bad business idea. The template is already in place: keep, sell/donate or toss. It works if the person is motivated by gratitude or because they're paying you for the service. It sure as hell doesn't work if the person is a complete nutjob.

I could still use someone to push me into a good clean out. *sigh* Lately I find myself wishing I lived in a place with a desk, a computer, a bed, maybe a TV and a few DVDs, probably a couch for guests to sit on, and not much else. I hardly ever look at all the junk in my house.

I'm still game if I could find a way to get there. Maybe one of these days when I win the lottery....

And 7 sets of clothes... one for each day. :)

Heh. The SO frequently wants to simplify. Well, simplify my stuff anyway. o.O Alas, I have half of the family clutter gene.

Group rates would be nice. ;)

Hmmm. Not much to offer as a draw except cows and cheese. Ah well, onward through the muddle. :)

If you're cooking the cows and the cheese is tasty, I'd consider it.
